(© Joseph Marzullo/WENN) | Michael Urie and Thomas Jay Ryan will once again star in Jon Marans' The Temperamentals, which will play New World Stages, with previews beginning February 18, 2010 with an opening on February 28. Jonathan Silverstein will again direct the production. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
The play takes its title from the 1950s code word for homosexual, and tells the story of communist Harry Hay (Ryan) and young Viennese refugee and designer Rudi Gernreich (Urie), founders of the pre-Stonewall gay rights organization, The Mattachine Society. The play previously played an extended run at the TBG Theater earlier this year.
The creative team will include Clint Ramos (set and costumes), Josh Bradford (lighting), and Daniel Kluger (sound).
